LA’s Best Bike Routes: #5

Our number 5 pick for best bike route in LA is a true gem. Just around the corner from our Culver City offices, the BALLONA CREEK BIKE PATH is a ride that won’t disappoint.

In just over half an hour, with help from Electron Wheel traversing some of the light terrain, we rode from our office to beach along this Westside route. Keep in mind we took our time taking pictures and enjoying the scenery so you could probably complete the ride in even less time 🙂

The Ballona Creek Bike Path heads West from Culver City for about seven miles from Syd Kronenthal Park in east Culver to above the Marvin Braude Bike Trail in Playa del Rey. The paved path is suitable for riders of all abilities and offers picturesque views of the Ballona Wetlands, the Baldwin Hills, the Santa Monica Mountains, and Marina Del Ray.

We definitely recommend making a pitstop at the Milton Street Park and for sure taking your time along Marina Del Ray. We spotted a sailing school in action as well as some stellar views of the Marina. The path will end (or begin) at the Marvin Braude Bike Trail (previously known as the Strand) which is another highly reccomended coastal ride.

First Time with Electron @ CiLAvia

Sunday March 6th, 2016 marked the 16th CicLAvia since the event began in 2010. THE countries largest public street event, CiLAvia provides angelenos with an opportunity to experience the city from a way most of us rarely do… from outside a car!

The event takes place a number of different times throughout the year bringing a day of cycling and fresh air to communities across the county. This CiLAvia happened to be in the Valley along Van Nuys Blvd in Paicoma, Arletta, & Panorama City. A part of LA featuring unique history, stunning murals, and rich diversity.

We thought CiLAvia would be the perfect place to bring out some of our production model 26” and 700c Electron Wheels and record peoples first time experiences.

Safe to say, we had an absolute blast, and enjoyed witnessing people’s raw reactions to the wheel. We had tons of great feedback, and even had some of LAPD’s Finest give it spin.

We also ran into Court from who caught up with us on camera with some behind the scenes video.

Be on the lookout for some more video content soon, but in the mean time check out some of these smilecam screenshots below :

Ride on,
